Views of Shanghai From High Above

Shanghai Tower is a super impressive skyscraper located at the core of Pudong’s Lujiazui Finance and Trade Area in Shanghai. The structure rises high above its neighbors to a height of 632 meters, making it the tallest building in China – and the third tallest in the world. The tower boasts 126 floors (5 of them underground), comprised of office space, a hotel, exhibition halls and more. It is literally a city in the sky. A unique glass façade design completes a 120° twist from ground level to its pinnacle, intended to reduce wind loads on the building in order to withstand Shanghai’s frequent typhoons. On July 1 2016, an observation deck situated 552 meters above ground level on the 119th floor was opened to the public. The elevator whisks guests up at record speed, taking less than a minute to reach the deck.

Destination Asia China has reinvigorated their classic ‘Shanghai Old and New’ tour to incorporate a visit to the tower where you can walk out onto the observation deck and admire the best views of Shanghai.
