Cruise Asia Cambodia Upgrades Koh Rong Island Experience

Our Koh Rong Island Discovery program introduces one of Cambodia’s most pristine islands, where life has an infectiously laid back pace and every view is simply spectacular. Guests disembark the ship and board coaches for a short drive to Soksan pier, located close to Sihanoukville’s old port in a maze of stilted warehouses and fisherman’s homes surrounding the city’s new autonomous commercial port. We board our motor launch and enjoy a swift and scenic cruise out to tropical Koh Rong, a journey of 45 minutes.

We disembark on Koh Rong and transfer to Soksan Beach Resort, a rustic yet upscale bungalow resort which was the former base camp used by film crews shooting the “Survivor” series on the island. It is located on one of Southeast Asia’s most stunning beaches, a 7km stretch of powder white sand lapped by turquoise waters known as Long Beach. It remains un-spoilt and undeveloped, and its waters are famous for their bio-luminescence – a true stretch of paradise.

After getting to know the soothing surroundings and enjoying a swim, a buffet lunch is prepared by the excellent team at Soksan Beach Resort. Guests are then free to choose between an afternoon of pure relaxation or from a range of activities, including kayaking, snorkeling, biking, fishing, floating village tour, or horse riding. As the afternoon sun begins to drop we board our motor launch and whisk you back to Soksan pier on the mainland, where our vehicles will be waiting to transfer you back to the ship.
