Embark on a Local Living History Tour with ‘Our Home’ Experience in Yangon

Doh Eain, which translates to “our home” in Burmese, is a multi-discipline restoration and placemaking social enterprise based in Yangon, Myanmar, specializing in preserving heritage, improving public spaces, and organising cultural and social activities that connect people to places. This group of passionate experts understand that it’s the people who make this city so special, and as a social enterprise and design practice they’re working hard to build on the amazing assets that already exist.

Doh Eain has developed a variety of tours presenting guests with a unique opportunity to understand how Yangon really ticks. Learn about the city as it is today while simultaneously seeing how history informs the present and glimpses what the future holds.  Our team in Myanmar is currently working on the 7-hour People & Places by Doh Eain: A Restoration and Place tour. Embark on a living history walk, meet and greet with local residents and artists, indulge in a traditional Burmese lunch in the Alley Garden, and make a donation to a live mural painting.

All proceeds from the tours will be used to support Doh Eain’s impactful capacity building and placemaking work throughout the city and Myanmar. Each tour also aids in spreading the unknown stories of Yangon‘s people and places, provides further support to the ongoing maintenance and transformation of Alley Gardens, while also encourages cleanliness and creativity within the neighbourhood.
