Patrick joined as General Manager of Destination Asia Cambodia in November 2016. He was raised in Hong Kong which gave him a lifelong passion for travel and in particular Asia. After a spell in Australia and 10 years working with some of the UK’s leading tour operators, Patrick booked a flight to Cambodia where it was love at first sight – and it wasn’t long before he made the move permanent. Having run a DMC in Phnom Penh for three years, Patrick worked as Director of Sales for a leading luxury travel firm in Bangkok but was unable to resist the call back to Cambodia when an opportunity arose to manage Destinations Asia’s office in Siem Reap.
Born and raised in Phnom Penh, Monika began her career as a reservation and tour operator for a local travel agency in Phnom Penh in 2003. She joined Destination Asia in October 2005. She quickly developed a strong interest in the cruise sector and even though initially this was a challenging task in unfamiliar territory, Monika was motivated to bring in new creative ideas and use all of her experience in order to satisfy expectations – and even welcome guests personally at the pier.
Monika loves to travel and share culture, traditions and experiences. She was promoted to the position of cruise manager in 2008 and strongly believes that the most important thing is to make sure people visiting Cambodia thoroughly enjoy their stay and return home with wonderful memories. For Monika, the best reward while taking care of cruises and our guests is to hear them say during their stay: “I Love Cambodia.”
